On Saturday, November 15th, Members of the FMC (Florida Medical Clinic) Foundation of Caring Board of Directors and the Community Leadership Advisory Council donated their time with a heart-felt gesture by helping create a special bedroom for Adrian. The 12-year-old suffers from leukemia and spends the majority of his time in his bedroom.
Debra Martin, Executive Director of Special Spaces Tampa, was the creative influence behind Adrian’s project. Adrian, his family and all the volunteers shared a truly memorable day thanks to Martin’s hard work and dedication. New paint, carpet and furniture were awarded to all who participated. Not to mention countless smiles by all.
The FMC Foundation of Caring funded a grant to Special Spaces Tampa, a local organization whose mission is creating dream bedrooms for children with life-threatening illnesses’. The transformed bedrooms are a place where seriously ill children can go to find peace and comfort.
“Creating this special room started as a gift to Adrian, but became a wonderful gift to all of us to be part of his day,” said Janeen Salzgeber, who is a member of the Foundation’s Community Leadership Advisory Council
The FMC of Caring strives to support individuals, children and families in need and at risk in both Hillsborough and Pasco. Between funding and help from volunteers, we leverage resources to enrich lives and create measurable, immediate and ongoing positive changes in our communities.
