Giving Honor to Whom Honor is Due
On Tuesday, September 9, 2014, volunteers from FMC Foundation of Caring shared their time to support the Honor Flight Network. The Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. The heroes are transported to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect on their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans -World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. Each veteran must be accompanied by a volunteer.
Mary Pugh, Kelli Pugh, Jim Stout and Corby Day volunteered as guardians for World War II veterans for their Honor Flight to Washington DC. Without the volunteer guardians, the Honor Flight Network could not send so many veterans to Washington to see the memorials built in their honor.
Jim Stout and Mary Pugh, stated that “this was an experience of a lifetime.” Thanks to Mary, Kelli, Jim & Corby for dedicating a day of your time to remember and honor WWII veterans who sacrificed so much for all of us.Become a part of the blessing for thousands in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties by joining with the FMC Foundation of Caring.
