Home Instead Senior Care (East Pasco County) is a locally owned and operated, growing home care business that began with the desire to serve the needs of our community’s elderly adults. They are not a giant corporation run from the top down – but, instead, a community-based, friendly and responsive office right here in East Pasco County.
We had a chance to catch up with owner, Michele Bonneville, and chat with her about her business and why FMC Foundation of Caring receives her support.
1. Why did you want to get involved with the Foundation of Caring?
There are several ties together between the Foundation of Caring and Home Instead Senior Care. Home Instead Senior Care corporate runs quarterly programs that complement the Foundation’s core values. Two in particular which we have worked together on this year were the Salute a Senior and Senior Santa’s. Two programs which enriched the lives of local seniors.
2. What does it mean to help?
With today’s nucleated and fractured families anything I can do to keep community ties stronger is important to me. I want to do my part to strengthen community and family ties.
3. What benefits do you get for partnering?
I’ve always been a team player, that’s just my style. Partnering creates teamwork and an environment that enables success. Each contributor strengthens the collaboration.
4. What advice do you have for others thinking about partnering and giving back?
You get back, more than you give. You won’t ever forget the experience and you are making remarkable memories. Expand your horizons in terms of community needs, and you will feel the satisfaction of meeting those needs. Additionally, what’s nice about partnership, is that there is an ebb and flow to it all. When you have more you can give more, when you have less you can pull back.
